Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.
Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened,
ambition inspired, and success achieved.

I like to update this section regularly as my insights and opinions change. Right now I've already done 5 nebulizer
treatments. With 4 or 5 more left. I've taken 10 pills with more to take. I've done 20 minutes of airway clearance with atleast
that much left. I'm battling a lung infection. I've had my moments of self pity but then I got to thinking....
Is there any successful person out there who hasn't suffered? I'm not talking success defined by money or possessions either.
Trials and suffering bring out the best in people. They develop character. Who better to empathize with someone than someone
who has been in their shoes? Who better to reach out to those that hurt than someone who has dealt with hurt?
If we never suffer then we never learn just how much we need God. Its not during the good times that faith is tested and
strengthened. It is during the bad times. It those times when God is all you have to hold on to that you grow in faith and
become closer to Him.
And we all suffer whether we develop cancer, go through a divorce, are victims of a crime, lose a child or are born with
CF. Every single person will suffer at one time or another and there is nothing we can do to change that. However we can change
how we look at that suffering and how we react to it!
And I think those struggles teach us just how precious life is and how short life is. It teaches us that you are never
too old to play with toys or to need a hug. That every sunrise and sunset should be looked at with awe. Looking at the stars
or seeing a rainbow can be like seeing a piece of God.
All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control
Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child
He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place
